I was excited to hunt with Deacon’s Point last weekend. I was bringing in a number of out of town guests, including a hunter who was flying down from Virginia.
Less than a week before the scheduled hunt, I get an email from Tim saying he was overbooked with a deer hunt. (IE, he received an offer to guide a deer hunt, which would generate much more revenue for his operation). I had been on Tim’s calendar for over two months, and my name was even displayed on his online calendar. I demanded an explanation, but Tim simply referred me to another guide (which was twice the cost and twice the distance from my house). I tried to call Tim to discuss, but he repeatedly ignored my calls and did not return my messages. I was very disappointed with the terrible customer service.
Luckily, I was able to book with Schmidt Double T Ranches. That operation was fantastic! We had a great time, and I look forward to booking again in the future. I wouldn’t book with Deacon’s Point – call up Schmidt Double T for the best hunt around. Deacon’s point is not worth the frustration.
